Blogging has become the ultimate profession of today’s internet marketing world, and by some of the most recent estimations, there are over 250 million blogs out there.
People decide to start blogging for a variety of different reasons. Some love to express thoughts, emotions, and attitudes, others do it simply for the money, and some decide to use blgging as a teaching method for students all around the world.
It does not matter what your ultimate reason for starting a blog is. However, you do need to know beforehand what type of business you are trying to build.
Is this going to be a hobby or you are trying to pull full-time earnings from writing your blog?
If you have already decided upon that, then this post will give you clear set of directions to move forward.
What do you need to get started?
A lot of blogger starters tend to procrastinate because they are unsure of everything they need. That is why I am going to list what exactly an average individual blogger needs:
- A quality domain name
There are no special rules to be applied when choosing out a domain name especially because most of the domain names you come up firstly will already be registered.
I always aim to have a short and memorable domain name that perfectly reflects my brand.
- A reliable hosting plan
A decent hosting is an absolute must. You can’t go wrong if you decide to purchase a hosting plan from any of the major hosting companies such as Bluehost, iPage or Hostgator. There are multiple plans you can choose and depending on your goals, plans, and budget; you can opt for the one that suits your needs the best.
Most of the newbie bloggers decide to use WordPress because of its multifunctionality. WordPress is not the only choice, as you can decide on any other of many different and useful website builders.
What makes a good blog perfect?
Content is one of the major factors and measurements when it comes to reviewing the quality of one blog.
A lot of people debate what is the single most important factor that determines the success of an average blogger. If I were to ask, I would say there are multiple factors but there is one that can either make it or break it. It is the quality of the content.
If you aim to build a five-figure blog, solving people’s problems through writing your blog posts should be the foundation of your business. People rely on bloggers who offer solutions.
There are two more things you need to adopt if you are looking to reach five figures:
- An email list- Having an email list means having a list of people who trust you and who are willing to purchase your products, services or seminars at any given time. If you want to build a serious blog, then having an email list is a must.
- SEO- Search engine optimization is only one of the methods that will help you build relevant traffic to your website. You can rely on other sources but having an SEO company which will build your rankings is a long-term strategy to get constant traffic.
